Description
In 2001, Synaesthesia Press published Friends / Enemies, a limited edition work by acclaimed author Tim O’Brien. This edition was limited to 99 copies, each signed by both the author (Tim O’ Brien) and the illustrator (Fritz Scholder). The books were bound by hand in handmade paper, giving each copy a unique and artisanal quality. As of now, copies of this limited edition are available on the secondary market, with prices reflecting their scarcity and the reputation of the author. For instance, a signed, lettered copy is listed by Downtown Brown Books in Portland, OR.
This publication is a testament to Synaesthesia Press’s commitment to producing high-quality, collectible editions that appeal to both bibliophiles and fans of contemporary literature.
So yea… I had A.I. write that. As in “artificial intelligence”. Mainly because I was really curious to see what my good friend AI had to say about one of the books I’m most proud to have made. I included a link to Downtown Books — in case you wanna grab one of the lettered ones. There’s actually two there! My hunch is they were Mel Waggoner’s copies, but I don’t want to run to my archives to confirm that. Speaking of archives, I was going through them recently during my move from LA back to Arizona, when I came across two copies of the numbered books I forgot I had. So there you have it. I’ll even list them at the 2001 publication price, just cause that’s the way I roll.
