Description
Women by Charles Bukowski is a semi-autobiographical novel that follows the exploits of Henry Chinaski, Bukowski’s alter ego, as he navigates relationships, lust, and debauchery in his later years.
The novel portrays Chinaski as a hard-drinking, misanthropic poet and writer who becomes entangled with a series of women—each unique, flawed, and fascinating in their own way. Through his often crude and brutally honest perspective, Bukowski explores themes of desire, loneliness, and the complexities of human connection. While controversial for its explicit content and unapologetic tone, Women is also celebrated for its raw emotion and incisive humor.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say these trade copies are often just as difficult to find and the signed limiteds. Why? Most of these went to libraries — as well as actual readers. Who read the book. More than once.
