Description
John Willie (1902–1962) was a pioneering fetish artist, photographer, and publisher, best known for his work in the underground bondage and fetish subculture. Born in England as John Alexander Scott Coutts, he later moved to Canada and the U.S., where he became a major influence in the world of erotic art and alternative fashion.
From 1946 to 1959, John Willie published Bizarre, a highly influential fetish magazine featuring bondage photography, corsetry, high heels, leather, and female domination themes. Unlike mainstream pin-up magazines, Bizarre had a refined, artistic approach, blending fetish fashion with an almost Victorian elegance.
Acquiring all 26 original issues of the first-print Bizarre mags is a difficult and extremely costly endeavor. Individual issues, when available, can sell for hundreds to thousands of dollars each, with complete runs being incredibly rare. Condition issues, missing pages, later printings and counterfeits further complicate the hunt. By contrast, this set offers a high-quality, complete reprint at a fraction of the price, making it the most affordable and accessible way to own this legendary collection. You can handle/read them, too! Fetish history enthusiasts won’t find a better deal than this out-of-print Taschen edition.
